Tailored Innovation Capability Program

Imagine the power of having a group of change champions within your organisation, all aligned and invested in a project that directly addresses a critical challenge. The Innovation Capability Program tailored for groups within an organisation can make it happen!

The Tailored Innovation Capability Program empowers staff in face-to-face workshops to come together to solve an organisation-wide problem, or realise an important strategic opportunity. The program will equip a group of your staff with the knowledge, skills and capability to implement evidence-based innovations tailored specifically to your unique context.

ARIIA’s experienced facilitators will bring together your chosen group of staff (often from different areas of the organisation) to develop and implement a project together using evidence-based approaches.

ARIIA will work with you to design a program tailored to your needs. It will generally include a combination of:

  • Face-to-face workshops (2.5 days of co-design)
  • Facilitated online workshops to follow up and support the project planning
  • Interactive and engaging online learning modules

Builds team skills and knowledge: Your team will learn how to develop and implement a project that tackles a work challenge. Your team learn new skills in problem definition, finding and understanding evidence, co-design, project and change management, and measuring impact and then apply them to your context.

Supports collaboration and connection: A valuable and rare opportunity to bring together a group of staff from different areas of your organisation to learn, collaborate and problem-solve with a shared purpose.

Puts evidence into action: We provide access to the latest discoveries and help you translate them into real-world settings, ensuring you are delivering care based on evidence, and tailored to your context.

Uses a comprehensive approach: Our approach develops a solution that cuts across and addresses governance, clinical and workforce challenges for a comprehensive solution.

Works alongside you: ARIIA team members with expertise in evidence-based practice and project implementation work with you and connect you with peers, resources and tools.

Builds organisational readiness for change: Planning for the project implementation provides resources and skills that are needed to support change in organisations.

A project plan: An action-focused plan based on sound implementation, change management and evaluation principles to support success.

A ready ‘pitch’: Guided development of a pitch to socialise the project across your organisation so everyone understands why change is happening and what it means for them.

Transferable skills: You will be able to apply your new skills and knowledge to find the best solution to the next problem, and the next problem..!

Innovation Network: All program graduates become a member of the ARIIA Innovation Network, a community-of-practice that provides ongoing support, learning and networking.

ITP In-house testimonials

Since 2023, ARIIA has delivered In-house ITPs to aged care organisations across Australia. Working with groups of between 8 to 20 staff from an organisation, we’ve travelled across the country to facilitate in-person workshops that empower groups to define their organisation-wide problem, develop an evidence-based solution, and implement change.

Here’s what some of our In-house participants have to say about their experience…

The In-house Innovator Training Program shifted our mindset from operations to innovation, encouraging us to use evidence to inform our project, capture our internal evidence and data and measure results. It was a valuable opportunity to bring together a group of staff from different areas of our organisation, to contribute their different perspectives and problem-solve together. The group built such a good rapport which has continued beyond the program.

The ARIIA facilitators were wonderful, incredibly knowledgeable and supportive and adapted to our team. I would recommend the program to anyone working in aged care, from frontline through to the CEO, who is passionate about making a difference, has an idea or problem to solve but doesn’t know where to start.

The Innovator Training Program supported us to develop a best-practice model for our wellness hubs. The collaborative approach encouraged us to explore different models and find a solution that worked best for Bupa. We began a pilot of the wellness hubs in mid-2023 with really good results, and we’re now rolling them out to every site nationally. The ITP has been fantastic, teaching us to break things down, start small and do what’s achievable. We wouldn’t have been able to do it without the program.

- Mel White, Quality Director, Bupa

The In-house Innovator Training Program has changed the way I approach challenges at work. After seeing Bec and Holly work with my cohort, I realised that while all of us are facing similar challenges, our experience and approach to these challenges will always be different. I feel that the ITP has allowed me a deeper understanding of the value in collaborating with people outside of my direct team, leaning on their experience and perspective to overcome difficulties.

I would recommend the program to anyone, but particularly those working in the Quality space. It’s a team that is always facing a huge amount of projects and change, and the ITP allows you to break it into bite size actions, supporting quicker and more effective progress.

- Kelsey, Consumer Experience and Engagement Lead and In-house ITP participant

A number of our staff attended the ARIIA In-house ITP and the methods and information that were provided to us during the training were extremely helpful – firstly in defining what our particular problem was and then assisting us in creating a workable solution. I would thoroughly recommend the ITP for all aged care related organisations.

I joined the ARIIA ITP with my team, the social link team at ACH Group, anticipating an opportunity to learn, grow and be challenged. The training didn’t disappoint! If you have an opportunity to do this I would recommend it. I have a renewed sense of taking time to complete thorough project planning and I got to know our team better.
