Aged Care Collaborative

The Aged Care Collaborative will harness the collective wisdom of the aged care ecosystem to invest in and implement evidence-based solutions that address complex workforce challenges.

Aged care is undergoing a transformative shift, driven by increasing demand, changing consumer expectations and the Government’s Reform agenda, with a rights-based and person-centred approach at the core. This transformation requires a workforce that is flexible, agile and empowered with skills to think differently, and a sector-wide culture of collaboration and innovation. The Aged Care Collaborative provides a unique opportunity for the sector to work together to solve complex issues that are difficult to address in isolation.

Established by ARIIA with $3 million of Commonwealth funding, the Aged Care Collaborative will offer three funding opportunities:

  • Two Flagship Projects: $2 million in total will be directed towards two multi-site, scalable projects that bring together aged care organisations to collectively embed and test evidence-based innovations in their different national contexts.
  • One round of Accelerator Grants: $1 million will fund grants of up to $100,000 each, directed towards projects that augment the current aged care workforce to deliver specialist care, support, knowledge and resources to where they're needed.

To achieve meaningful engagement, scale and impact, organisations who are selected following an application process will be expected to match the funding with cash and/or in-kind co-contributions.

Key dates

  • Applications for the Accelerator Grants are now open, and will close at 5:00pm ACDT Monday, 31 March 2025.
  • Applications for the Flagship Projects will open on Tuesday 11 March 2025.
