Maw Pin TAN is a Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. She obtained her undergraduate medical degree from University of Nottingham, United Kingdom before completing her higher specialist training in Geriatric Medicine in Northern Region rotation  and  doctoral research studies at the Institute of Ageing, Newcastle University. Over the last 12 years, she has dedicated much of her time towards establishing ageing research at the University of Malaya. While her primary research interest has been falls and syncope in older adults, Maw Pin is also the Principal Investigator of the AGELESS longitudinal study of ageing. She is the Medical Director of Managed Care and the Genting Dementia Day Care Centre, and is a Founding Director of ACT4Health a social start-up delivering evidence based health assessments and training to enhance the health of older Malaysians.
